Dubai, 18 December 2025: Hasan Nawaz of the Desert Vipers and Muhammad Jawadullah of the Dubai Capitals have each been fined 10 per cent of their match fees for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during DP World ILT20 Season 4 matches earlier this week.

Nawaz was sanctioned for an incident during the Vipers’ match against Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, December 16. He breached Article 2.20 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which relates to the abuse of cricket equipment or ground fixtures. The charge was levelled by Match Referee Roshan Mahanama.

Jawadullah was fined following the Capitals’ match against MI Emirates in Dubai on Thursday, December 17. He was found guilty of breaching Article 2.5, which covers the use of language, actions or gestures that could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter after dismissal. Match Referee Simon Taufel imposed the sanction.

Both players admitted their offences and accepted the penalties, meaning no formal hearings were required.

Earlier in the season, two Abu Dhabi Knight Riders players were also fined 10 per cent of their match fees for separate Level 1 breaches.

All-rounder Liam Livingstone was sanctioned after the Knight Riders’ match against Dubai Capitals in Dubai on Sunday, December 7, for conduct deemed contrary to the spirit of the game under Article 2.20. The charge was imposed by Match Referee Simon Taufel.

Sherfane Rutherford was fined following the Knight Riders’ match against MI Emirates in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, December 11, after breaching Article 2.20 for abusing cricket equipment or ground fixtures. The sanction was imposed by Match Referee Roshan Mahanama.

Level 1 breaches of the ICC Code of Conduct carry penalties ranging from an official reprimand to a fine of up to 50 per cent of a player’s match fee.
